Orthophoto Rectification and Mosaicing

Aerial images can be georeferenced or orthorectified for analysis and research in all GIS projects. Aerial images/ raw aerial photographs taken during a fly cannot be used as an input for Photogrammetry. Aerial photos are first converted into Stereo models using AT (Aerial triangulation). SBL Geo specialists use photogrammetry techniques to orient the images. For Orthophoto production, the extracted and edited DEM is employed, the stereo models with DEM are used to produce orthophotos through Orthomaster software. DEM (Digital Elevation Models) are either provided by the clients or they are created and edited in-house.

Besides this, the breaklines and feature layers are included to ensure the positional accuracy and tonal quality of the ortho photos. The orthophotos are quality ensured by a team of engineers for any distortion, and positional accuracy, using the provided ortho maps and surveyed ground control points. Ground control points and camera calibration report are necessary for ensuring accurate measurable and georeferenced image. Flight height or AGPS data if provided as input, helps to achieve precision in the process.

SBL orthophoto output provides valuable information about the terrain from which true distances, angles and areas can be measured. The ortho photos are merged together using Ortho vista, and seam lines created, and edited, to ensure a seamless mosaic of the entire project area. After seamline editing and colour balancing the orthophotos are Quality checked for irregularities and cut into tiles according to client specified dimensions.

SBL Geomatics guarantee the best georeferencing and orthorectified output within your budget, meeting your delivery time. We were selected and honoured by government entities in Europe for providing the best quality output meeting their delivery time.
